Passion

Andrew Stevens is a New Zealand-born artist, currently living on the Mornington Peninsula. He was educated in Dunedin, New Zealand, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Otago Polytechnic in 1999.

He has received numerous painting awards; notably receiving ‘Best in Show’ at the Bayside Art Show in 2016, and is becoming more recognised in the art industry through his participation at prominent art shows and exhibitions and word of mouth through the sale of his paintings.

He has a passion and flare for portrait painting.

He also specialises in local seascape and cityscape paintings and can paint these with a high degree of detail or expansively depending on the interpretation required. For example his seascapes often represent vast and powerful ocean beaches, whilst his cityscapes may depict the careful positioning of people, vehicles and iconic landmarks.

He works exclusively with oil on canvas and his work draws on influences from impressionism to more contemporary aesthetics. Many of his paintings come from his selection of scenes, but he is very happy to paint bespoke portraits or landscapes for clients.
